Waleed Bailey, aka "Blizz Blakk," musician, writer.
The
hip-hop musician today, known as “Blizz Blakk,” is a now Texas transplant, hailing
to all rap and R & B lovers to show him some love. Named by his parents Waleed Bailey, Blizz
Blakk is originally rooted in the East Coast’s Philadelphia, PA.
Most
recently, residing in Houston, Texas, Bailey is a beloved professional musician
as well as a professional trainer who help individuals start new health dealing
with light and heavy weights among other weight lifting equipment and fitness
educational materials.
Today,
he is setting himself up on his music career all the way from the West Coast’s Big
City of Houston, Texas to the Southeastern Coast’s Big City of Miami, Florida, to
the East Coast’s Big Borough Yeadon, PA and beyond.

Robert Lee
Strother, Jr., otherwise known as Bob Conga, is musically known as “the Musical

few other documents to travel to North America from there, the American Blizz
Blakk is on the slow rise of gaining music followers who enjoy what’s called
Dominican hip-hop in the Dominican Republic.

a lot about the level of his music success since the most sought after music in
the Dominican Republic is Batcha.
Little
“Blizz “Bailey was once named Waleed Abdul-Shaheed Bailey. His parents Mary
& Robert were both Muslim parents.
However,
“Blizz” Bailey and his family later converted to Christianity, which influenced
much of little “Blizz’s” worldviews. Growing up learning the ideals and truths
of both the Islamic and Christian religions, “Blizz” realized God to be the
same living spirit that people called by different names.
An early
interest in music was shown when he was a youngster. Waleed was able to follow along hearing a few
beats his father had fiddled with, and hummed along to an instrumental sound
his father used to play frequently.
Still early on in
life when the family home was a very comfortable resting place for Waleed, his
father sat and began to play beautiful musical selections, much to Waleed’s amazement.
The effect was instantaneous . Music became one of the most interesting and
beautiful things in the world to Waleed. And soon, being able to express all that magic
of music, he would understand very different musical tastes.
Moving
forward about the young life of Blizz Blakk, music also influenced Blizz from a
young age because his father, a professional performer and artist who once
played with the late great Grover Washington Jr., recorded Gospel music and
Reggae feel good songs.
Also,
Blizz’s father would bring young Blizz to the studio where Blizz would sit
quietly and nod his head to the beat, taking in all music had to offer.
Somewhere in
time, early musical influences for Blizz Blakk ranged from the music of John
Coltrane and Miles Davis and even Sinatra. Funk music, R&B, and Rock were
equally influential. Therefore, music of all genres may have influenced his decision to become a hip-hop artist
as well as drives experiences that he commonly raps or sings about.

in his career might or might not choose to commonly rap or sing about his home
life. Blizz’s world was turned upside down
when his parents divorced at a young age leaving him living with a single mom
and 3 siblings running around the house.
During this time, Blizz didn’t have much, but always looked for
ways to get what he needed. Suddenly, hustling came natural to Blizz and that
was the way he was able to scoop up easy cash for school supplies and clothes.
What started as a need turned into a full time gig of hustling and rhyming on
the streets.
A serious controversy occurred for him at age 17. There became a few shifts in the
artist's musical direction and which includes strong negative reasons for this
shift.
Blizz found himself making 10 grand a day in drug deals. While
feeling like he was on top of the world, he soon found himself entangled in an
international crime spree that left him in prison for 3 years (1997-2000).
Upon
his release, Blizz decided to change his path in life and his father helped him
by co-signing for an apartment, which got him back on his feet he began to
learn responsibility.
Blizz
never looked back. Diving head first into music, he concentrated on writing
songs and performing with locals such as NAAM Brigade and more.
What
he witnessed in his years on the streets and in prison forever changed his life
and he began to use that in his rhymes creating beats with soul. Using the
skills he’s learned throughout his life, Blizz found focus and success in his
life’s passion of music.
Perhaps this is just one reason why
the natural musical artist originally started writing politically motivated
hip-hop lyrics. Blizz Blakk’s latest single
and album is focused on professional accomplishments over unprofessional accomplishments.
