YEADON BOROUGH – The Yeadon Public
Library threw a Christmas party for local families Saturday, providing an
evening of family fun to local residents.
The Yeadon Library planned its
annual Christmas Party for Dec. 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The party offered a
variety of activities.
The party was attended by lots of
children and adults, according to Children’s Librarian Director, Richard Ashby.
During the event, families were able
to enjoy a variety of games, refreshments, crafts, magic shows, gift toys, Christmas
story time and a visit from Santa Claus.
And the Xmas party included much appreciated visitors who attended such
as Judge, W. Keith Williams, II, Delaware County Magisterial District Judge
in PA, Borough of Yeadon and East Lansdowne, Councilwoman, Sharon Council,
Yeadon Council President, and friends.
Library Director Ashby ensures that families
could expect several activities finishing up this year as well in 2015.
The event is totally free.
In addition, Santa came to visit and take pictures with
children and their families. Parents brought their own cameras.
While families waited to see Santa, Ashby keep children busy. The children participated in the library’s brief values story, poem, and demonstration moment bringing laughter and joy to all.
After the visit with Santa, staff and friends of the
Library had crafts for children to create and some face painting. There was also opportunity to read books after
face painting.
In addition a beautiful tree, decorated by staff and
volunteers will be on display.
Richard Ashby looks forward to many families coming to
the library time and time again. It’s just a nice, family-friendly day for all
in Big Yeadon.
