concert at American Airlines Arena on Sept. 20, 2015 in Miami, Florida.
“I am excited to perform for the global audience at this year’s Dubai World Cup,” Jackson states in the announcement. “The entire Unbreakable company is looking forward to traveling with me to Dubai and being part of one of the world’s most prestigious events.”
Four days later, the multiple Grammy Award winner will launch the European leg of the Unbreakable World Tour on March 30 in Birmingham, U.K.
Jackson teased the Dubai announcement on Twitter earlier on Monday afternoon.
The teaser, accompanied by a black and white photo of the singer’s partially obscured face, was set to an audio stream of “The Great Forever,” a track from her Unbreakable album.
In a video posted to her Twitter account early last month -- prefaced by lyrics from “The Great Forever” -- Jackson denounced rumors that she was suffering from throat cancer. The rumors began circulating in December when she postponed her ongoing Unbreakable World Tour until the spring to undergo surgery.
The tour had been slated to resume on Jan. 9 at Denver’s Pepsi Center following a number of previous cancellations. A week later, Jackson confirmed that the postponed dates had been rescheduled.
Jackson will return stateside with the Unbreakable tour on May 14 in Las Vegas. The tour, her first since 2011, will wrap Aug. 28 in Cleveland. With the chart-topping Unbreakable, Jackson became the third act to earn No. 1 albums in each of the last four decades.
