Cirque du Soleil’s ‘OVO’ Cracks Open At Liacouras Center
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Cirque du Soleil has 18 productions going on
worldwide. One called ‘OVO,’ which, in Portuguese, translates to
egg
, cracks open at the Liacouras Center Wednesday night.
Fifty performing artists from 17 counties are in the cast of ‘OVO,’ performing daring acrobatic feats and
moving to a nine-piece cockroach band playing Brazilian music.
The story is about a
community of insects who gets visited by a stranger.
“It’s a fly, and he carries a big fly on his back,” says Marjon Van Grunsven, the artistic director for ‘OVO.’
