Close by 69th Street, Upper Darby, Darby, Southwest
Philly, North Philadelphia, Center City Philly, and New Jersey, this dance
studio offers plenty of opportunities for children 3 and up. Dancers can expect
classes such as jazz, ballet, modern, hip hop, and Pointe as well as musical
theater, lyrical/liturgical praise, and dance dynamo combo. Yoga and Computers are
also offered.
AKAstudios/Van Stone International House for Arts and
Education also has competition teams.
Boasting 64 X 18 square feet of space in two studios, AKAstudios
offers many introductory classes that focus on having fun while learning basic
dance skills. Children ages 3-6 especially enjoy learning by combining dance
traditions in early classes while children around age 7 and up can choose to
focus on one area as they develop their skills. AKAstudios/Van Stone International
House for Arts and Education also offer rental space to hosts birthday parties,
business activity, music rehearsals and fitness rehearsals, and holds fall
camps, winter camps, spring camps and summer camps. There are several different
competition teams as well.
AKAstudios at Van Stone International House for Arts and
Education has been teaching students on the the Muhammad Ali Way, formerly 52nd
Street since 2018. It offers a comprehensive dance program for all levels with two
of the best studio spaces around. As a bonus, AKAstudio/Van Stone
International House for Arts and Education also offers famous dancers in Philadelphia
Gallery lessons and a tour based on the Philadelphia historic experience about
the Van Stone building located at 5150 Walnut Street 2nd Floor. The
building was famously used by Philadelphia dancers and pool players. Arthur Mitchell, the Dance Theater of Harlem Ensemble,
danced in the West Philly area. William Joseph Mosconi, American pocket billiards player who was
men's world champion, played pool in the West Philly area as well.
AKAstudios/Van Stone International House for Arts and
Education holds lessons including piano, guitar, drum, and voice as well as martial
arts classes.
Formly Black Dance Theater, Stacy Adams Shoe Store Outlet, Urban
Pool Hall and Billiards, Urban Reception Hall, and Urban Clothing Store, AKAstudios/Van
Stone International House for Arts and Education has a commitment to community
and personal well-being. Its goal is to uplift the mind, body, and soul. It
seeks to enrich students' lives through high-quality artistry and service to
society. This studio offers a full schedule of classes in ballet, tap,
jazz, hip hop, modern, and lyrical contemporary. Those who take ballet can
expect teachers to follow the ABT® National Training Curriculum. This program
was created by world class dance artists in conjunction with sports medicine,
nutrition, physical therapy, and orthopedics advisors. As a result, classes
concentrate on strong kinetics and coordination as well as proper body
alignment.
