Gov. Tom Wolf reacts to tax vote on Wednesday.

HARRISBURG, Pa., (CBS) — As Pennsylvania’s budget battle drags on, Governor Tom Wolf remains defiant even after his tax proposals were defeated by a significant margin in the state House Wednesday.

The state House voted down the governor’s proposals, which included an increase in the personal income tax. Republican Dave Reed, the House majority leader, said the House has chosen a path forward.

“We’ve recognized that broad-based tax increases, for the budget, just does not have the votes necessary in the House for passage,” said Reed.
