Philly radio station announces new Voice Over, Master Music Professional at WVSR: It's Doris J. Hall-James; a classic voice over the years by Shera Minor frontpagenews1@yahoo.com
Doris J. Hall-James, Radio Broadcasting Voice-Over Professional,.
Professional Music Artist, Master Music Professional.
Doris
J. Hall-James is in the studio in Philadelphia, PA more often these days along
with her partner and best friend Gilbert Lomax Jr. Both Hall-James and Lomax
Jr. are Master Music Professionals; but they had much ado to promote Gil Lomax
Jr.’s new exclusive music mix radio show on Power WVSR 1360.1 AM online,
produced, mixed and remixed by Lomax Jr., called Gil’s Time Zone.
There
is one thing different about Doris J. being in the studio. Weekly, she and Gil
are not at the www.powerwvsr1360.us
radio station studio when the segment is mixed.
They aren’t at the www.power88.us
radio station studio in Philly to preparing for Gil’s Time Zone show.
They
are in another popular music studio in Philly and the name of the studio is the
GreenRoom Audio Sound Studio (GRASS).
Lomax
Jr. is the President of GRASS and Hall-James is the Vice President- all music
recordings happen at GRASS.
After
the 1 hour music mix for the show is done then, Hall-James meets with Lomax Jr.
in another Philly studio to do the finishing touches for the show. Simply Music Studio Incorporated- Doris is
the owner and CEO of the non-profit music company that specializes in all
aspects of music creation therein- is where Doris does the voice over for
introductions and station identification.
Hall-James
is the classic voice of Gil’s Time Zone radio show for WVSR’s weekly broadcast
of its Lomax Jr.’s shows.
In
addition, DJ Gil interviews the guest for broadcasts meanwhile Doris has gone
on most of the Lomax Jr.’s local tours, being a part of live recordings for
broadcast at the Simply Music Studio.
So, although Lomax Jr. is host and
deejay of the evening show on WVSR 1360.1-AM and POWER88 The FM from 8 to 9
p.m., an upbeat, music compilation program that he selects to get the night off
on the right foot, Hall-James compliments the show with her voice over drops as
a nice commercial free interlude.
“Doris J.’s contributions to the Gil
Lomax Jr. show, Philadelphia and the world of music through her radio
programming voice have been enormous,” says Van Stone. “Her effectiveness as a
radio voice and personality comes from her warmth and ease at the microphone,
says Stone.
Today, Hall-James has been asked to
join the Van Stone team of professional radio broadcasters as a Voice-Over
Project Leader at WVSR. Now that she is
with the station Doris will enjoy the help she can share with others, listeners
and musicians of our area.
Persons interested in vocal training
may contact Hall-James at the Simply Music Studio located at 251 South 60th Street
in Philadelphia (215) 474-2801.
Hall-James
has done a lot for the music and performing arts in our city. And she seems very happy to do more using her
voice on-air live.
